For those who don't have a place to stay: some of our members offer free lodging nearby the club. Those place will be given away on a first come , first serve base as you register on our website. 

As Belgium is between North and South of Europe we suspect a battle between North an d South Europeans. 

NOTICE OF RACE
ORGANISING AUTHORITY:
The North Sea Open (‘ NSO ) Kite Course Racing will be organised by:
the Royal Belgian Sailing Club vzw ( RBSC), under the authority the Vlaamse Yachting Federatie , KBYV-FRBY and
the IKA.

1 RULES
1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 (RRS),
appendix BB experimental kiteboarding competition rules 2009-2012 and any amendments.
1.2 The KBYV-FRBY prescritions 2009-2012.
1.3 The IKA class rules.
1.4 The IKA point system.
1.5 IKA code of conduct.
1.6 This Notice of Race (NOR) and the Sailing Instructions (SI)
1.7. If there is a conflict between the Sailing Instructions and the Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions
shall prevail.
1.8. If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2 ADVERTISING
2.1. ISAF Regulation 20 – Advertising Code - shall apply.
2.2. Competitors may be required to carry advertising for event sponsors.
3 ELIGIBILITY
3.1. All competitors shall meet the requirements of ISAF Regulation 19.
3.2. All competitors shall be members of their National association, and their current year membership
fees shall have been fully paid and verified.
3.3 Belgian competitors shall be 2010 member of a club ,member of the KBYV-FRBY
4 ENTRY and Pre-registration.
4.1. Pre-registration is recommended, see * art. 16.
4.2. The regatta is open.
4.3. Entryfee Course racing € 50 payment before 10 am first race day in the RBSC Duinbergen
Clubhouse.
4.3 These championships shall be organised for the 4 divisions:men and women, race boards and
twintips.
8.1.3 A minimum of 8 entries is required for the raceboards ( men and women) and a minimum of 8 is
required for the twintips ( men and women ). If the number of entries in a division reaches 16, that
division may be given a separate start.
7 SCHEDULE

8 EQUIPMENT Inspection
8.1. Equipment Inspection shall be conducted in accordance with IKA.
9 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing Instructions will be available during registration at the Registration Desk.

11.1 The official notice board is located in the RBSC Clubhouse sea side
11 COURSE
The Championship shall use upwind/downwind courses exception for the twintip class who can have a
course appropriate to the weather conditions.

12 PENALTY SYSTEM
12.1. The scoring Penalty 44.3 will apply .The penalty will be the whole number ( rounding 0.5 upward)
of the places nearest to 25 procent of the boards entered .
12.2 An international jury may be appointed in accordence with the RRS Appendix M
12.3 The decisions of the jury will be final as provided in RRS 70.5
13 SCORING
13.1. The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply.
13.2. 3 races must be completed with 8 starters to validate the Championship for each division.
14 SUPPORT BOATS
Team leaders, coaches and support personnel shall register during the registration at the registration
office; and shall comply with the requirements in the Sailing Instructions.
15 RADIO COMMUNICATION
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not
available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
16 PRIZES
16.01 Trophies shall be awarded to the first 3 competitors in each properly constituted division.
16.02 The organization has the intention to pay prize money on the proviso that the necessary funds are
in place. All pre-registered riders will be informed by e-mail as soon as the funds are available and the
level of prize money is finalized.
16.03 Attendence at the prize giving recemony is mandatory
17 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors will sail at their own risk. The organising authority, and all parties involved in the regatta
organisation will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in
conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the championship.
18 INSURANCE
Each boat shall have a current Public Liability and Third Party Property Insurance policy, including
coverage when racing at the venue of the Championship, of not less than 1.500.000,00€ (or the
equivalent).
19 RIGHT TO USE NAMES AND LIKENESS
By sailing this event a competitor automatically grants to the Organising Authority and the sponsors of
the event the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time and at their discretion, any
motion or still pictures, and live, taped or film television and any other reproductions of him/her during
the period of the Championship without compensation.
20 Drugs testing
20.1 Competitors are reminded of the ISAF rules and regulations concerning the use of banned methods
and substances .
