During the rigging up of the boats on the 3th racing day of the
delphis Dart 18 Worlds it was raining cats & dogs. The wind was
looking ok, so at 11 o’clock the first race of the day was a on.
The rain was already gone than, but unfortunately the wind was also
shifting and reducing. This caused a general recall. Because of the
low wind and a strong current they weren’t able to start. After
waiting an hour the sailors were send ashore. At half past one the
current was less and the wind was increasing. Race 5 was finally
able to begin. The first start was immediately a good one. David
and Louise Roberts from England made the most of it and were ahead
at the First mark, immediately followed by Michiel Fehr and Raphael
Jakob from Switzerland. In the downwind course David Lloyd and
Joanna Jones-Pierce took the lead but were overtaken again in the
next one by team Roberts who kept the first place till the finish,
followed by Fehr-Jakob and Alan & Fiona Kernick from
Great-Britain in third place. With this third place the Kernicks
take the lead from Dodé and Fred Moreau from France, who finished
twentieth today.
